Advocacy

SSA Advocates are here to help.
Many students face issues or difficulties during their university studies. SSA employs qualified and experienced Advocates who offer confidential advice and support for Swinburne Students regarding University Policy and Procedure matters.
When accessing the service, your Advocate will work together with you to assess your situation and discuss possible courses of action. Advocates can assist with your response to the relevant faculty or section of the University, as well as review draft letters and accompany you to meetings or hearings.

I would like to FOLLOW UP with advocacy about an open case
If you need to contact us regarding an open case, you can email advocacy@swin.edu.au or phone the Student Life Reception on 9214 5445.
Please note that we prioritise urgent cases, such as unexpected sensitive matters or issues involving Swinburne deadlines; as such, there may be delays in providing updates about your case. Rest assured that we will provide you with an update as soon as we can.
This is my FIRST TIME contacting Advocacy about an issue
Book an appointment with an advocacy officer. After we receive your request and will email you within 24 business hours to confirm your appointment.
The form asks for your information, details of your issue, your preferred contact method and appointment time, and allows you to attach documents that you want us to review.
We use the information provided in the form to learn about you and understand your issue. This helps us review the situation prior to meeting with you so that we’re prepared and ready to offer appropriate advice and information.
