The Work and Development Permit Scheme

Updated: May 6

A New Opportunity for Students

The SSA is excited to announce that we are now an official sponsor of the Work and Development Permit (WDP) scheme. This initiative, run by the State Government, allows us to support vulnerable and disadvantaged current, prospective, and alumni Swinburne students. We offer a non-financial pathway to resolve fine debt.

If you are eligible, you can work off your fines by assisting the SSA Events & Experience team. This role will involve tasks that help you develop your employment skills while positively contributing to the Swinburne student community.

Understanding Eligibility

Before reaching out to us, please ensure you meet all conditions and eligibility criteria. You can find detailed information in our Fact Sheet. If you have any uncertainties, we are here to discuss them with you!

You can also visit the Work and Development Permit page to learn more about the scheme and check if you qualify.

How to Register

If you are interested in registering for the scheme or have any questions, please email us at WDP@swin.edu.au.

As part of the eligibility assessment process, applicants will need to attend a brief interview. If accepted, you will receive a rostered work schedule that outlines your required hours.
