New Club of the Year

The New Club of the Year Award, presented as part of the SSA Student Life Awards, recognises an outstanding new club that has created an engaging member experience, demonstrated strong teamwork and made a meaningful contribution to the Swinburne community.
Eligibility
The club must have registered with SSA for the first time in 2026.
Only one application may be submitted per club.
Your club must demonstrate:
A varied and engaging membership offering
Good governance and teamwork
A meaningful contribution to the Swinburne community
Selection Criteria
1. How has your club developed and delivered a varied and engaging calendar of events and activities, and engaged members in achieving the club’s mission and goals?
2. Describe a challenge your club worked through this year and how the committee used teamwork and collaboration to succeed.
3. What are the committee’s major learnings from this year, and how will these shape the club’s approach over the next 12 months?
4. How has your club contributed to meaningful outcomes for the Swinburne or wider community? Please describe the impact.
Selection Process
Eligible new clubs must submit a nomination for consideration. The submissions will be reviewed by the SSA Clubs and Sports team, who will determine the winner.
The winner will be announced and celebrated at the SSA Student Life Awards Night.
